For one of our projects we were to paint a landscape. While I was in Ohio, I took pictures of the land around my Grandma's house. I chose this land because its pretty and it has meaning to me. I liked this picture and was excited for the outcome of it but I was not looking forward to the painting part. For some reason I don't like painting as much as I like drawing. But I took my time and did my best with this piece. It took a while to plan out what I should do first and last because everything over laid each other. I started with the big green trees in the background. Some of the challenging things were putting the snow on the trees, and trying to get the green, tire path to look right. That was the most stressful part, trying to get the grass to look like it was showing through the snow. I am still not 100% satisfied with it but I think it looks as good as it's going to get. I was very challenged with this piece because I'm not good at painting and I also am not good at trees. That was a huge challenge in this piece but I like how it turned out for the most part. I really liked how the right side of the painting turned out. I like the barn and the trees that are over there. I wasn't sure how everything would look when I was finished, but for me not liking painting I think it turned out pretty well. The snow was definitely challenging and I'm glad I pushed myself through this piece. I hope to continue painting so that I can practice because eventually I want to grow and become better at it.
